What the current data shows
- Copenhagen is the most expensive place to rent an apartment, at 228 kr. per m² a month – 3,0 times as much as in Randers (76 kr.).
- Apartments are let fastest in Aarhus, typically in 13 days, and slowest in Herning, where it takes 29 days.
- A two-room apartment has a median rent of 14.850 kr. in Copenhagen, 9.745 kr. in Aarhus, 7.695 kr. in Odense and 6.408 kr. in Aalborg.

What does an apartment cost by number of rooms?
Monthly median rent for apartments in the largest cities. There is no national figure, because small apartments are concentrated in the most expensive cities.

Methodology
The index is based on active, public rental listings on Bolighub. Deleted, inactive, hidden and internal listings are excluded, and every city and property type uses the same filters.
Median rent and size use listings with valid values. The typical rent range is the 10th–90th percentile, which reduces the effect of unusual outliers. Rent per m² is calculated for listings with both a valid rent and size. Figures are shown only when there is sufficient data.
Time to let is the median time from a home being listed until it was let, for homes let within the past year.
The trend is based on the asking rents of homes listed for rent in each month. Monthly figures are shown only when there is sufficient data.
The index describes advertised homes, not signed leases or the entire rental stock. Figures change as listings are added and removed, so cite them together with the update date.
