The Sommerfuglen residential area is located close to the stream that runs through Halgaard East and is one of the area's prominent natural features. Sommerfuglen is characterised by terraced housing developments situated in the open meadow landscape. The homes overlook open green areas and are all oriented towards the south, optimising the homes' passive solar gain. The terraced houses are positioned with offsets to create more private outdoor areas for each home.
