“Tankefuld” is a large-scale, visionary and highly sustainable residential area in Svendborg, only 3 km from the town centre. The development consists of 67 homes, divided into 4 different main housing types ranging from 83 to 115 m², on either one or two levels, as well as a 100 m² community house. Where practical, environmentally friendly materials have been used, with a focus on life cycle and long service life. The homes are positioned to make the most of the sun’s path and optimise the use of passive solar heating. All roof surfaces feature either green roofs, roof gardens or solar panels. The development is built to the 2015 low-energy standard and also incorporates a wide range of other sustainable initiatives—including a focus on plant growth, solar energy and rainwater collection between the houses. With low-energy status and a sustainable approach, exemplary homes have been built to help lead the way for energy-efficient and competitive non-profit housing construction in the future. The homes in Tankefuld are heated by air-to-water heat pumps, which are a good, environmentally friendly alternative to, for example, oil-fired boilers. The development has ample parking, and you will also find charging stations for electric cars.
