The Sommerfuglen residential area is located in close proximity to the stream that runs through Halgaard Øst and is one of the area's defining natural features. Sommerfuglen is characterised by terraced houses situated in the open countryside. The homes overlook green, open areas and are all oriented towards the south, optimising the homes' passive solar gain. The terraced houses are positioned with offsets to create more private outdoor areas for each home.
