3-room apartment with balcony in Aalborg Vestby
Dannebrogsgade, Aalborg
About this home
The apartment has a small entrance hall and an open-plan kitchen and living area with access to a lovely balcony overlooking the courtyard garden. The kitchen has a built-in dishwasher and is well integrated with the rest of the room, making it easy to socialise while cooking. There is a room that could be used as an office, a living room if the open-plan kitchen and living area is not large enough, or a bedroom. The apartment also has a bedroom that can accommodate a large bed and a wardrobe. The bathroom is well maintained and has a good shower setup. The property also has bicycle parking, a shared laundry room and storage rooms.
In Aalborg Vestby, the buildings have character. The façades range from worn brickwork, with an almost raw New York look, to newer apartment complexes. The neighbourhood has a lot to offer. There is always a grocery store, fast-food restaurant or café nearby. Aalborg Vestby is also home to Friluftsbadet, Vestre Fjordpark and Aalborg Stadium. The area is very popular with young people, but has something for everyone. If you enjoy an early-morning swim or always carry a library card, Vestbyen is also home to Haraldslund. There are green spaces too, including Fjordmarken and Søheltens Have.
Aalborg Vestby lies west of the city centre, along the Limfjord. The area has historical roots as a working-class neighbourhood, with factories dating back to the late 19th century. This still shapes the urban environment, which features a mix of older apartment blocks, residential areas of detached houses and newer developments. Today, around 15,700 households live in West Aalborg, with Vestbyen making up a significant part of the area. The housing options are varied and include non-profit housing, owner-occupied homes and cooperative housing. Several areas, including Søheltekvarteret, are being renovated to improve housing quality. Vestbyen is centrally located, with easy access to the city centre, the waterfront and recreational areas such as Vestre Fjordpark. At the same time, the area faces climate-adaptation challenges due to the risk of flooding from the fjord. An urban development plan is currently in progress, focusing on climate adaptation, green public spaces, improved mobility (including through the Plusbus) and balancing densification with preserving the area's historic character.
